About Jenöris
Jenöris is a hair care house built on cold-pressed Pistacia vera oil, with borage seed oil alongside it. Five formulas, one idea: put on the strand what the strand is already made of, and leave out the rest. This page is what that means, in plain words and real numbers.

The oil
Cold-pressed from the kernel of Pistacia vera. Mostly monounsaturated, with a lighter polyunsaturated fraction and vitamin E the kernel brings with it. Turn the ring, or let it turn.
Omega 9 · monounsaturated
52%
Oleic acid
Most of the bottle. One kink in the chain keeps it fluid and lets it spread thin along a strand rather than sit on it.
Typical ranges for cold-pressed Pistacia vera kernel oil. Composition moves with cultivar, season and pressing, so the order matters more than the decimals. The last few percent are minor acids and are left as the empty part of the ring.
The strand
Scroll, and follow the drop down the strand.
Lifted
Colour, heat and hard water lift the cuticle, the layer of tiny overlapping scales on the outside of every strand. Light hitting a lifted cuticle scatters in every direction, and moisture leaves through the gaps. Up close, that is what dull and dry look like.
Absorbed
Pistachio oil is mostly oleic acid, a light fat close in shape to the lipids a strand already carries. It spreads along the hair rather than sitting on top of it in a film, so a few drops go a long way and nothing feels heavy.
Sealed
As the scales lie back down, the surface of the strand evens out and light comes off it in one direction instead of many. That is the shine you can see from across a room, and it is why the ends stop catching on each other under a comb.
Daily, then weekly
The oil does this every day, in a few drops. The masks do it more deeply once a week, and the shampoo cleans without undoing it.

What a formula leaves out is on the label as often as what it puts in. Every word here is printed on a bottle in the range. Point at one to see which.

The second oil
Borago officinalis, borage or starflower, gives a seed oil that is unusual for one reason: it is the richest common botanical source of gamma-linolenic acid, an omega 6 that most seed oils carry only in traces or not at all. Evening primrose is the oil it is usually compared with; borage carries a good deal more of it per gram.
Pistachio gives the range its body and its shine. Borage is the reason the house thinks in terms of two oils rather than one. Where it appears in a formula, it is on that product’s ingredient list.

Who writes to us
A message that says who is writing, and what for, gets a useful answer the first time instead of a reply asking for more. Pick one and we will set the form up for you.
My own hair
Say what your hair is doing and we will tell you where to start, including when the honest answer is one product rather than three.
Worth putting in the message
The form will open on A question about a product.
Before you buy
The six we answer most. The last one is worth reading whether or not you buy.
The Pistachio Oil. It is the daily step and the one the rest of the range is built around. The masks are weekly, and the shampoo and glaze do the work in between. One product used properly beats three used now and then.
Yes. The Pistachio Oil is made for colour-treated, dry or frizzy hair, and the Keratin Hair Mask is sulfate free and sodium chloride free, so it maintains an existing keratin treatment rather than stripping it.
That is what the range is for. The oil and the Keratin Hair Mask are the pairing we would put together first. The shop page sets out the order, and each product page names what it works best beside.
Cold-pressed pistachio oil, which is mostly oleic and linoleic acid with naturally occurring vitamin E. The full profile is on this page, and the ingredient list for each product is on its own page along with what it is free from.
We ship worldwide from Canada. Orders over $80.00 ship free within Canada; under that it is a flat $8.00. Outside Canada it is a flat $25.00 anywhere we ship, and any duties or taxes at the border are paid on delivery. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
Read the label first. Pistachio is a tree nut and these are pistachio oil formulations, so if you have a tree nut allergy, speak to your doctor before using any of the range. For a sensitive scalp, patch test a small area and leave it a day. Full ingredient lists are on every product page and we will answer any question about them.
The oil is the daily step and where the range begins. The masks are the weekly ones.
